Please note: these support pages are all relevant to the original Eggbot Beta kit from 2009. The instructions and support pages will all be updated to reflect the new kit and its capabilities when it is released.

Assembly

Eggbot can be easily assembled without soldering. You will need only a screwdriver, and a mini-screwdriver. Please look at the instructions for more details.

Circuitry

The EggBot Board (EBB) does not require any assembly, however you will need to connect the motors, USB cable, and power. Please visit the EggBotBoard Page page for more details.

Software

Instead of re-inventing the wheel, we've decided to use Inkscape, a freeware vector graphics program to allow you to make or import designs for plotting. We have written a Python extension which will plot your drawing (see the software page for more details).

• Windows XP/Vista

  Use our installer to install Inkscape .47 with the included eggbot scripts and the libraries required to use the usb port. Or, if you are well-versed in Inkscape and/or Python, you can follow the directions for Mac & Linux users to do the installation yourself.

• Mac & Linux

  We have so far only tested our extension on Windows XP and Vista, but it should work on Mac OS X and Linux. Please follow the detailed instructions on the software page.
